On July 25, 2024, A Cappella Bay Show Chorus will celebrate its 70th year!  Here's a quick synopsis: 

7/25/49  Sunshine City Chapter formed in St. Petersburg, FL; it was the 1st Chapter in Region 9 and the only Chapter east of the Mississippi. 

Skyway Chapter later chartered, then merged with Sunshine City in 1969 to form Sunshine Skyway keeping the 1949 original Charter. 

Sunshine Skyway and Gulf to Bay merged in 1992 and kept the 1949 original Charter. 

2015   Gulf to Bay Chapter changes name to A Cappella Bay Show Chorus.   

Over the 75 years there have been 15 different directors and numerous awards, most recently first place small chorus in 2019. Our current director is Lisa Williams, the bass in LadyBug Quartet.  

 Long standing current member Harriett Swartzmiller, 51 years as a Sweet Adeline with A Cappella Bay, remembers the history of the Chorus and the wonderful memories of singing with her mother, sewing multitudes of sequins on costumes, and the lasting friendships she has made over the years.

 A Cappella Bay is ready for the future and will continue to strive for excellence through spreading love and joy in each note and chord that it sings and rings!
